About Us
Voice of Ethiopia (VOE) and Ethiopia News Factory (ENF) are twin media initiatives established to address significant gaps in the Ethiopian media landscape, both domestically and among the diaspora. We believe that media holds immense power, comparable to legislative, executive, and judicial bodies in government structure.
Our work focuses on creating a truly independent and impactful media presence for Ethiopia. We observed a lack of strategic, journalistically sound media focused on Ethiopia’s national interests, with many existing outlets being either extremely polarized or simply ineffective. VOE and ENF aim to fill this void by providing reliable, balanced, and timely information across economic, political, social, entertainment, religious, and sports issues.
A core objective is to bridge the gap between the public and the government, acting as a “watchdog” to ensure the government listens to its people. We are committed to combating misinformation and disinformation, which have caused significant harm. Our strategy involves understanding and preempting the narratives of those who seek to destabilize the nation, and empowering the public with accurate information.
VOE operates as a web-based news platform in Amharic and English, while ENF primarily focuses on Amharic content, engaging “eye reporters” from the grassroots and whistleblowers. We are dedicated to working with utmost patriotism, always prioritizing Ethiopia’s national interest. We also aim to foster a new generation of bright thinkers to participate in information creation and combat outdated perspectives.
Our initiatives also extend to connecting Ethiopian communities in the diaspora with embassies, addressing existing divisions and outdated mindsets. We are driven by the belief that a strong, respected, and fearless media is essential for Ethiopia’s future.
